July 4 Weekend
Jul. 5th, 2009 11:15 amI posted about the kitchen on the slacker houseblog that I have. For some reason I find myself unable to come up with witty commentary about the house, I just post pictures and try to include descriptions and updates about what we are doing but mostly I fail. We are painting the kitchen today. (Coastal Mist by Behr) Partially. I can't get all the stuff behind the appliances without moving them but I am not sure how far we can pull them out without tearing the gas line/waterline, etc. I don't really want to experiment, since that could be v. expensive.
Last night we saw fireworks and a BSO concert.
Here is a video I took with the small silver camera:
There was a 10 year old girl who was a soloist earlier in the concert - the conductor (Damon Gupton) let her come onstage and conduct with him when they were playing this song. You can also hear the people who were sitting in front of us - they were extremely loud and rude and annoying the entire time they were there.
I recorded for a minute - there were a lot of news articles last week about how many towns had to cancel their fireworks because they cost upwards of $1000 a minute. (Yikes.)
Alice is doing better since she was spayed Thursday - it is very hard not being able to explain to her that she can't run or play and why she hurts. Plus she is depressed at having to wear The Cone of Shame. Lucy is very concerned for her, she keeps bringing her piles of squeaky toys. They both have Coastal Mist frosted fur now, since they rubbed against the walls. The Cone of Shame has Coastal Mist racing stripes. For the first three days we just watched a lot of Stargate and gave Alice drugs. Now she wants to run with Lucy, but we are afraid that her intestines will pop out if she rips her stitches. So. Every so often I'll be in a different part of the house and hear David yelling "Alice! Intestines!" which means she was jumping around.
I have had a migraine since Tuesday.
